Black Forest Sheet Cake

Ingredients
1 chocolate cake mix (I like one with butter)
1 can of condensed milk
Pitted cherries, canned or fresh
Whipped cream

Bake chocolate cake mix in a sheet pan lined with waxed paper. While cake is still warm, poke holes in it and pour a can of condensed milk over it and let it seep in. Arrange pitted cherries on cake and cover with real whipped cream or Cool Whip dessert topping. Garnish with toasted almond slices.

Buttermilk Chocolate Cake

Ingredients for Cake:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup Crisco shortening
1 stick margarine
4 Tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
Icing:
1/3 cup sweet milk
3-1/2 Tablespoons cocoa
1 stick margarine
1 cup chopped nuts
1 box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cake: Sift flour and sugar. In saucepan, mix water, shortening, margarine, vanilla, and cocoa and bring to a boil (stir often). Pour over flour/sugar mixture. Mix eggs, baking soda, and buttermilk together in a separate bowl and add to chocolate mixture. Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 25 minutes.

Icing: In a saucepan, combine sweet milk, cocoa, and margarine and bring to a boil. Add 1 box powdered sugar and vanilla gradually; mix well. Add pecans and mix with icing. Pour and spread over hot cake A really moist cake!
